don't forget about the meditation teacher amrita. if she was just a people pleaser and let go of her work boundaries and sat with rick, the ending would have looked a lot different...brown women with the weight of discerning when to hold boundaries and what that means if you do. 😅
I enjoyed this read, seems spot on! I did struggle with Belinda's decision to take the money. It felt like she betrayed her morals and also put herself at risk by negotiating with a dangerous man. Also the fact that Amrita didn't sense how distressed Rick was or wasn't willing to stop to help him seemed out of character with her deep intuitive knowing. but I also appreciate what Jenna said in her comments below as I hadn't thought of that! Complicated stuff. Also Jim, Rick's father, chose to hide this truth and that got him killed in the end.
