after coming back from 14 days in the costa rican jungle, i concur that both awe and nature are critical in my daily experience.

Thank you for this, a lovely thought provoking read. I also didn’t last long watching that debate and ended up in a debate with a friend over it when I also said - he skirts round answering so many things and then still goes for arrogance - they did not agree. I chose to not spend Sunday afternoon energy on a debate over that.

I’ve loved hearing/reading your recent shares (and call outs). It’s needed, truly. Thank you.

Mate, the way you present your thoughts is not only refreshing, but it is also disarming. I never feel like you’re trying to prove something about who you are, but rather you are honestly sharing from what I might call gentle vulnerability. I have been thinking a lot about these very same ideas lately, specifically with the wellness industrial complex. It is refreshing to read these words. Thank you.

really appreciate your sharing what’s on your mind. it starts to feel crazy making being in the wellness world sometimes, when teachers and influencers are at most only vaguely referring to “everything happening lately” and not contributing any insight or reflection of actual substance. for me, i think (one of) the point of maintaining a sadhana is that it gives me capacity to show up in this fucked up world, to practice discernment and to contribute to community when i could very well be completely hopeless and destitute.

So very refreshing to read this! I was going through newsletters, unsubscribing, clearing up, clearing out. I saw your first few lines about leading a retreat, read the word sacred and thought, maybe this is one to go - why did I sign up to this when I am so cautious about inviting wellness-bollocks into my space. Then I read on and remembered! How many beautiful and softly spoken meditation teachers will name out the capitalism, consumerism, pacifying, commidification inherent in the industry? LOVE and looking forward to more x

Several times while reading your note- I instinctively laughed and put my hand to heart. Thank you for this perspective, and for sharing your vulnerability and strength, both. Peace to you - I loved brooklyn and met one of my favorite people in the world there.
